After constant pain and physical exhaustion, Marion finally decided to take her daughter's advice and go to the doctor, but never did she expect to hear the word cancer. In May of 2009, Marion was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. After blood transfusions, chemo therapy, and multiple drug treatments, she lost her life just months after her diagnosis at the young age of 52. She has left her legacy of 3 children to honor and remember her always. While she is no longer here with us, she will be loved and remembered always.
John & his wife Torri have been involved in Light The Night for years, but it was not until 2010 that they would have a personal connection within their family; John was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Now John and his family walk to inspire others and he feels absolutely honored to have been chosen as the 2011 Honored Hero.
He began a six month chemo therapy regimen a few weeks after the diagnosis and finished his treatment in August of 2010. Now, he's in remission. John says, "Throughout our years of involvement with LLS, we've seen hope in the eyes of so many families who have been helped by LLS-funded research., but it is definitely a different experience when it's personal.
